Although lots of scripture is used, that is actually the way to go. I'm only in my sixth week of standing but this book is actually a great prayer companion and just what I need to fight the good fight.

Nice book, not enough models to learn from

I liked this book although there are still a few details that I couldn't find an explanation for them.
Big letters, big photos, but I wish they had also a simple furniture to start from. It is all so beauty full but a little difficult for a beginner.
For example there are no specific explanations for when to use the hot glue when assembling the furniture.

A combination of this book and a beginners book will make my knowledge of cardboard furniture building a much more easy. Now I have to find a beginners book....:-)

real furniture

There are books suggesting furniture that is dumb- - - using acres of laminated cardboard- - - this one is different. Accuracy and precision are required. The furniture is designed very well, the instructions are quite clear. This one would be best for a young person, who would find it easy to get on the ground and cut and measure. Not very good for ancient peoples. Made me wish I were young again !!! I will gift it to my niece when she is old enough. I loved it.

This book offeres step by stap instructions, and makes the whole process look very doable. The instructions are very detailed and answer any possible question I had about building furniture out of cardboard. If this is something you want to try, get this book.

Beautiful Mess

I chose to title this "beautiful mess" because of the impact I know personally from the author. A woman, who is insanely brilliant, fought through probably the most traumatic stresses and trials of faith nobody should ever have to endure. I have no trouble by saying that her faith grew stronger through these trials because she is a devoted Christian. I'm so thankful she recommended this book to me after enduring my own personal issues and attacking my own demons. This book will become widely known as well as the author. Most likely Dr. Phil will call her cell phone or she's already called him lol. On a serious note, the time I spent with her family impacted my life greatly and amends are in place because she was like a mother to me as well. Well done mama. Keep fighting. The love you have for others should be publicly known!

Compelling Read!

A compelling read and a Must for all! Couldn’t put it down once I started.

How scary to accept the fact that regardless of the good intentions, we might be doing more harm than good to the children of today. Epidemics that wreak havoc on our children that have become so commonplace shouldn’t be accepted. They should be questioned – “Why have these diseases become so commonplace?" "Are we treating the cause or the symptoms?" Something we should all seriously consider and perhaps just listen to that nudge deep down in our hearts that tells us “something just isn’t right”. And to think - Some of these diseases stem from the same cause and can be so easily treated if someone would listen!

What a heroic story of a mother’s love for her child, and what one person can do to try to make a difference.

A personal look into PANDAS

A+ This book was gripping; I felt like I was along for the ride with Cody and Ella. For those of us looking for answers around this bizarre illness, the writer openly puts her journey on display. I have a family member who has been confronted with a possible PANDAS diagnosis and this is as far as I have made it in my research; I am reading the Day Lily book next.

If anyone reading this has more book suggestions, and even better, suggestions for support groups or listings of doctors who are literate in this disorder, please reply to this review. I'm hungry for knowledge.

Born 1971 in Lüneburg (Germany), currently living in Hamburg, Mirko Reisser has become known as an artist worldwide especially for his large size graffiti works in the 3D-style, in which he depicts his writer name DAIM in serial repetition and within processes of construction and deconstruction. The book Mirko Reisser (DAIM) 1989 – 2014 is the most extensive publication of the artist’s œuvre so far.
In 1989 he realized his first works in the public space – in 2014 the artist looks back on his artistic career that spans 25 years. This book gives an all-embracing insight in the work of the artist for the first time, from the beginnings of his career that started with illegal works on the street, covering the time of his studies of fine arts in Switzerland up to the present, in which his works can mostly be seen in large scale museum presentations. This book shows the development of the works of the artist over a course of 25 years and also all important periods of his œuvre in more than 350 colour images, of which some have never been published before. Murals, canvases, sculptures, editions, graphics and the later tapings can be seen. The images furthermore grant a look behind the scenes and show production processes of some of the artworks.

Johannes Stahl, art critic and curator, takes a look back at the historic roots of graffiti, in whose tradition the works of the artist certainly stand, but from whose liberation they also fight. About the Author
Mirko Reisser, born in 1971 in Lüneburg, is an artist known worldwide for his iconic large size graffiti works in the 3D-style, in which he depicts his writer name DAIM in serial repetition within the processes of construction and deconstruction. In 1989, he realised his first works of graffiti in a public space, and created his first commissioned pieces in 1990. In 1991, right after his graduation from secondary school, he began to work as a freelance artist and called himself DAIM. In 1996 he began his studies of Fine Arts at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art (Switzerland). Today he lives and works in Hamburg (Germany). During his artistic career, Mirko Reisser has travelled to many parts of the world and taken part in a multitude of museum and gallery exhibitions. He has also aided and initiated many internationally recognised art projects, curated and organised exhibitions and published books, often together with the studio collaboration ‘getting-up’ that was founded in 1999 with Gerrit Peters and Heiko Zahlmann.

Worth its weight in gold.

As a designer of CNC machine tools and robots for the last 35 years,
technical data concerning steel properties, has been one of the most
important subjects involved in all my design projects.

When the "ENGINEERING PROPERTIES OF STEELS" came out in the 80's I acquired an edition, and found it to be a lifesaver, enabling me to
evaluate steel alternatives to obtain optimum design.

The handbook has been in constant use over the years, and I have
recently bought a new 8th edition.

I strongly recommend this handbook as a must for design engineers who
are constantly in a dilemna as to which steels are optimum for specific
parts and what properties can be obtained, so that the engineer can
fully specify the optimum steel type and all properties necessary.

For almost thirteen-year-old Bethany, life has suddenly and unexplicably taken a strange turn. For a girl who has never spent a night away from her parents, she's suddenly hustled into the car by her sad-looking father, subjected to listening to her sobbing mother, and unceremoniously dropped off in the middle of the night in a town she's never heard of, at the home of a woman claiming to be her Aunt Myrlie. Her parents are a lot older than her friend's parents, and Bethany is sure that her parent's siblings are all dead. So who is this woman claiming to be her Aunt, and why has she never heard of her before? Why won't her mother stop crying? Why does her dad seem so eager to get away from the house in Sanderfield? And who the heck is Elizabeth, the name she overheard her father and Myrlie discussing?

All these questions and more are only the tip of the iceberg in Margaret Peterson Haddix's newest novel, a wonderful young adult thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed. The twists and turns are unpredictable and unexpected--the conclusion one I never saw coming.

Overall, a great suspenseful read for teens and adults alike!

The book is just amazing. One of Margaret Peterson Haddix's best books. As Bethany finds out about her past and her parents past, one is just electrified, in a good way.
I liked how Margaret Peterson Haddix surprises you with every turn, much like J.K Rowling's Harry Potter.
I would suggest this book to kids in middle school.

purchased for daughter aged 12. Her reading varies from anime, greek mythology, to percy jackson books. She had to read this particular book for school. she enjoyed the twist and turns of the story. she highly recommends it.

Third Edition is Good But Not Great

New technologies like Google Analytics change so fast. I purchased the third edition of this book from among a group of three or four books on this subject because it was the newest release. A second consideration, for me, was that I wanted a book specific to Google Analytics rather than a book focused on the larger subject of Web analytics. I wanted a book that would point me at the important features of this tool without reading an extra 300 pages of analytics theory.

This book delivers as a quick start guide and reference to Google Analytics, but it also has some minor flawed. The coverage of advanced applications of Google Analytics is good. It presents clear examples of how to use all the features of Analytics, and puts all those features in a larger context. The book is both a blueprint for setting up your site analytics, and a reference you can revisit later. That larger context of how to set up your first analytics program is what makes this book worth buying. There are plenty of topics on the Web about using Google Analytics, but you don't get a good guide to the big picture of how to set up your analytics program from a bunch of disparate topics scattered around the Internet.

This new edition has some flaws. Especially in the first third of the book, some topics aren't very well written. For example, in the introductory section of the book, where they compare Google Analytics to log file analyzers, some of what is said seems to be wrong, and the information on setting up your tracking code is a bit outdated. Minor problems but worse than what I would expect in a published book.

Bottom line, it serves the purpose of an introduction and guide to Google Analytics. I'm using it.

A good book that explains Google Analytics in a really good way.

Two things i have against the book:
1- Doesn't really say much about web metrics.
2- Google Analytics is a product that move very fast and I don't think there is a book that can handle that.

My advice: read the book but keep your self busy with the tool it self for better understanding.

I purchased this book because I manage the analytics account for my company and really wanted some helpful assistance for using the more complex functions of analytics - like event tracking and custom reports. Unfortunately, this book assumes a higher level of knowledge of javascript and web-lingo than I currently have, and just doesn't break things down as much as I was hoping.

Book’s topic This book outlines the principles and applications
of the most important analytical techniques in use for analysing
artworks and archaeological objects, and discusses the
materials encountered in this field.Description of the analytical
techniques includes fundamental theoretical backgrounds, but
the main focus is on how to apply those techniques and the
information that can be obtained by use of archaeometry.
The book’s 20 chapters are divided into three parts. Part
one covers the most commonly used analytical techniques;
part two deals with composition, analytical methods, and
degradation of materials; and part three discusses some
emerging archaeometric themes. The book gives good
guidelines on how to select the most appropriate techniques,
and covers non-destructive and micro-destructive techniques
Contents Chapters 1–7 cover the imaging techniques
that are the basis of common non-destructive scientific
visualisation: vibrational spectroscopy; X-ray methods,
including instrumentation and archaeometry applications;
radiocarbon dating; separation techniques, mostly interfaced
with mass spectrometry to identify organic substances; mass
spectrometry, focusing on element identification and isotope
determination; and electrochemical techniques (useful to
obtain information about composition and origin).
Chapters 8–17 describe the composition and ageing
behaviour of several materials encountered in art and
archaeology. Pottery, glass, and obsidian artefacts are critically
reviewed, covering the most recent literature. Advanced
instrumental techniques used to characterise enamelled
metalwork and gemstones (not commonly discussed in the
literature) reveal new possibilities for investigating these
materials. A survey of pigments and dyes in history emphasizes
the importance of colours and the complexity of their chemical
composition. The chapter on the structures and materials of
panel and canvas paintings summarises how to characterise
both artists’ materials and those used for restoration. Chapter
14 provides information enabling better understanding of the
rates and mechanisms of corrosion of ferrous metals under
different environmental conditions. Resin and fossil resins
are briefly discussed in Chapter 15, and innovative analytical
procedures for identifying archaeological ivory are detailed.
Historical textiles are taken into account, but only in description
of a case study (a 17th-century bodice).
Chapters 18 and 19 report recent developments in the
authentication of art and archaeological objects and of
gemstones, and give insights into the production of the
decorative tiles used in Iranian architecture. The closing
chapter deals with an intriguing topic related to chemical

About the Author
Professor Howell GM Edwards has published over 430 research papers in Raman spectroscopy and is on the Editorial Advisory Boards of the Journal of Raman Spectroscopy, Spectrochimica Acta: Biomolecular Spectroscopy, the Internet Journal of Vibrational Spectroscopy and the Asian Journal of Spectroscopy. He has supervised 40 research students for Ph.D degrees. Currently, he has research collaborations with groups in Spain, France, Denmark, Germany, Australia, Brazil and the USA. He has lectured widely on Raman spectroscopy and its applications including Plenary and Invited Lectures in Brazil, Australia, Finland, Denmark, Spain, France, South Africa, U.S.A and Germany. Just when it looks as though the family will have to find a new home for their pet, he suddenly outgrows his nasty need to nibble. "He's not a puppy anymore," father proudly explains, while a 13-man construction crew works to repair the damaged house. Humorous colored-pencil cartoons reveal the devastation caused by the wee pooch and the family's reactions to the chaos left in his wake. Chewy Louie's exuberance is almost palpable and his teeth marks are everywhere. He's depicted as a small black dog with a pink tongue hanging out one end while his other end wags so vigorously that he appears to have multiple tails. Readers are left with the tiniest doubt about Louie's newfound maturity upon discovering that a corner of the last page has been chewed off. An entertaining tale about an all-too-common situation.

Schneider's bright, cartoonlike colored-pencil illustrations perfectly capture Louie's manic energy and the text's exaggerated humor, especially the bafflement of the book's narrator, the little boy in Louie's beleaguered family. very funny and adorable story

If you have ever owned a puppy that chewed you will love this adorable story. I got this book for my grandchildren who have two dogs and they loved it and wanted their Mom to read it over and over again. The story about the puppy who chewed everything is really funny and the pictures are adorable.

Trujilo-every Dominican over 50 still knows him.

I started traveling the Dominican Republic in the mid 1980's and first came across this book in an airport in Puerto Plata. After reading it I became even more interested in this person who so dominated this beautiful island for over 30 years. I had a driver who was (and still is) a keen observer of Dominican politics and history. He showed me where the Mirabel sisters where murdered and gave me a sense of what it was like to grow up in country where if you missed school a couple of days in a row your parents would receive that dreaded knock on the door at 0200 in the morning. I think this book gives one a sense of what kind of animal Trujillo was. For most of this, Trujillo's life is ancient history but god help us if there is another like him on todays political landscape.

By far the most complete book on the Trujillo era

This is by far the best and most complete book on the long 30 years of the Trujillo regime. Althought not Dominican, I have read several book which are very good. Including the excellent The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa, that is a novel, but nevertheless is based, fundamentally, on very solid facts of the times. However, Crassweller's book is really first among its peers. It is objective, well researched, and, as humanly possible, very objective. Crassweller obviosly had access to State Department sources and documents, which are cited in a generous manner. A must read for anybody interested in the matter.

Caribbean dictators

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the story of the Caribbean and a look at the position the United States has taken in relation to the conflicts and abuses bestowed on these nations. It is an excellent read. Interesting, specific facts and very little, if almost none, editorializing.
It's a shame it hasn't been reedited. I read it in loan from a local library.
