Best PCT book available

Looking for THE best book to help plan a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail? Curious of how to go about organizing your hike, and wish you could just sit down around a campfire to pick the brains of successful thru hikers from prior years? Then GET THIS BOOK.

Yogi has been compiling data on the Pacific Crest Trail for quite a few years. With her excellent organizational skills, and the help of many hikers taking detailed records, she has written the most detailed and helpful guide imaginable. Everything you need to hit the trail as prepared as possible is in these pages, and all subjects are covered. Gear lists, water sources, resupply strategies, trail tips and an extensive town guide will help you make wise decisions and greatly increase your odds of having an enjoyable experience on the PCT.

I've hiked the entire PCT twice, and carried Yogi's information on both trips from Mexico to Canada. I'm headed out for a third thru hike this year, and am stoked to have yet another copy of Yogi's book. And this year, the book is even BETTER! Section hikers, thru hikers and day hikers alike will all benefit from the data in Yogi's Handbook, and I cannot endorse this book enough.

A Valuable Tool for Media Literacy and Critical Analysis

This text provides Insightful approaches to critical discourse analysis, using contemporary examples from various media. I plan to use this for my undergraduate course in discourse analysis. The writing works well with the intent of the text, which is to engage students in thinking about the sea of media we continue to navigate in our daily lives.

i read this book and it seems to be very readable. it explains the physics behind the quantum heterostructures in a lucid and tractable manner. i recommend this volume before reading the treatise by weisbach & vinter. those who want to start research on quantum structures will find this book as an invaluable resource. its comprehensive and almost exhaustive.

Another enjoyable military romance from Amy J Fetzer!

Rick Wyatt is a Marine dedicated to the Corps. When he is wounded in combat and returns home to recuperate, he is annoyed to find that his commanding officer has engaged a nurse to stay with him until he's recovered. Having a nursemaid is bad enough, but when she's your estranged wife, it's almost unbearable. Kate moved out a year ago and all the feelings Rick has been suppressing for the past twelve months have all come surging back to the surface. God, how he's missed her, but she's the one who left, so he'll be damned if he lets her know it. Will he ever understand why she left or maybe find a way to convince her to stay?

Kate never stopped loving Rick and didn't want to leave, but she couldn't continue to live with a man who couldn't or wouldn't confide in her. She knows he feels things deeply - just not with her. He never really needed her and now he only needs her around until he recovers. But can she really walk away from him a second time?

This was a poignant and sexy read about how tough it must be to keep a marriage together in the military - especially when all those tough guys think they shouldn't feel anything! And if they do, they sure as heck shouldn't share them with the women they love. Would sharing those feelings and experiences cause those women to see them in a different, negative light? How silly men can be . . .

Another good one by Fetzer.

A couple who's divorce is impending, Rick and Kate find themselves tossed together for 2 months. Can they talk through the problems that separated them?

Fetzer's ability to translate emotions on to the page is unparalleled. Her characters act like real people would, thinking what you would think and doing what you would do. Don't miss Fetzer's best works "Rebel Heart" and "Dangerous Waters".

Really good!

I loved this book. Amy Fetzer did such a good job of portraying the mindset of the wounded warrior, plus she very deftly handles the fallout that comes to marriages and the pain to the wives of these men in the specialized services, in this case the Marines' Force Recon. Both Rick and Kate, the main characters, are delightful. Rick, as a wounded Marine, is like a wounded bear. Kate is a nurse detached to take care of his recovery. Oh yes, the sparks fly! I would recommend this book to anyone.
