Terrible!!

took all of about 45 minutes to read. If I had known it was nothing but 4 or 5 short stories (and I do mean SHORT) I would not have purchased it. This was NOT worth purchasing , much less reading. Terrible !!!!!! If I could give minus stars I would!

I have loved all Ms. Pamela's books and thought a compilation of groupie stories about groupie girls she knew might be good. .But instead it is poorly written and so far away from the great story telling of her previous books.

Rock bios are a prurient interest so the groupie perspective is a logical extension for me. I didn't know these were just additional chapters that didn't make the book so there wasn't much reading here. However they were interesting and I will at some point read the whole book. The bit of insight into Jim Morrison and Elvis Costellos lives make this very worth it.

Samuel Birley Rowbotham, under the pseudonym 'Parallax', lectured for two decades up and down Britain promoting his unique flat earth theory. This book, in which he lays out his world system, went through three editions, starting with a 16 page pamphlet published in 1849 and a second edition of 221 pages published in 1865. The third edition of 1881 (which had inflated to 430 pages) was used as the basis of this etext. Rowbotham was an accomplished debater who reputedly steamrollered all opponents, and his followers, who included many well-educated people, were equally tenacious. One of them, John Hampden, got involved in a bet with the famous naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace about the flat earth. An experiment which Hampden proposed didn't resolve the issue, and the two ended up in court in 1876. The judge ruled against Hampton, who started a long campaign of legal harassment of Wallace. Rowbotham hints at the incident in this book. Rowbotham believed that the earth is flat. The contients float on an infinite ocean which somehow has a layer of fire underneath it. The lands we know are surrounded by an infinite wilderness of ice and snow, beyond the Antarctic ocean, bordered by an immense circular ice-cliff. What we call the North Pole is in the center of the earth. The polar projection of the flat earth creates obvious discrepancies with known geography, particularly the farther south you go. Figure 54 inadvertantly illustrates this problem. The Zetetic map has a severly squashed South America and Africa, and Australia and New Zealand in the middle of the Pacific. I think that by the 19th century people would have noticed if Australia and Africa were thousands of miles further apart than expected, let alone if Africa was wider than it was long! The Zetetic Sun, moon, planets and stars are all only a few hundred miles above the surface of the earth. The sun orbits the north pole once a day at a constant altitude. The moon is both self-illuminated and semi-transparent. Eclipses can be explained by some unknown object occulting the sun or moon. Zetetic cosmology is 'faith-based', based, that is, on a literal interpretation of selected Biblical quotes. Hell is exactly as advertised, directly below us. Heaven is not a state of mind, it is a real place, somewhere above us. He uses Ussherian Biblical chronology to mock the concept that stars could be millions of light years away. He attacks the concept of a plurality of worlds because no other world than this one is mentioned in the Bible. Rowbotham never adequately explains his alternative astronomy. If the Copernican theory so adequately explains planetary motions, why discard it, and what would he use in its place? What is the sun orbiting around once a day and how does it work like a spotlight, not a 'point source'? If the moon is self-luminous, what creates its phases? If gravity appears to work here on earth, why doesn't it apply to the celestial objects just a few hundred miles up? To make his system work he had to throw out a great deal of science, including the scientific method itself, using instead what he calls a 'Zetetic' method. As far as I can see this is simply a license to employ circular reasoning (e.g., the earth is flat, hence we can see distant lighthouses, hence the earth is flat). Zetetic Astronomy is a key work of flat-earth thought, just as Donnelly's Atlantis, the Antediluvian World is still considered required reading on the subject of Atlantis. If you ever have to debate the flat earth pro or con, this book is a complete agenda of each point that you'll have to argue.

Samuel Birley Rowbotham (1816 – 1884) was an English inventor and writer who wrote Zetetic Astronomy: Earth Not a Globe under the pseudonym "Parallax". His work was based on his decade-long studies of the earth and was originally published as a 16-page pamphlet (1849), which he later expanded into a 430-page book (1881). According to his method, which he called Zetetic Astronomy, the earth is an enclosed plane, centered at the North Pole and bounded along its outward edge by a wall of ice, with the sun, moon, planets, and stars only a few hundred miles above the surface of the earth.

I'm Done

I have to say that I'm done with this series. Though it has the potential to be a great story. It has the mystery, intrigue and sex component that I do like. The manner in which it is written, a chapter per release every 4 - 6 weeks, has ruined it. I'm not sitting around with baited breath waiting for the next release. I'm involved in several series, so by the time I get back to this one it has lost it's charm. I should have waited until all the releases have been published before starting it. It would have helped if the author was considerate enough to provide some type of notification of the next release and how many books it was going to take before the series was complete. Repeated requests by various people have been ignored. Not a great way to sell your stories when you treat your customer base that way.

If you don't have Kindle Unlimited do not bother. 13+ books at .99 a piece is so not worth it. Even new releases by well known best selling authors do not cost that much.

OMG! I'm still in love with this series! What He Commits is Book Thirteen in the spellbinding series, What He Wants by Hannah Ford. This series totally rocked my world! Each successive release becomes even more powerful, exhilarating, mysterious, suspenseful and sexy. And yes, this is a serial with lots of nail-biting, white-knuckle cliffhangers, but I personally love the excitement and anticipation of a good serial. The dialogue is smart, well written, intelligent, arousing and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging, intriguing and sexy as sin. Law student Charlotte Holloway may only be 21 but she has worked tirelessly to gain favor with her law professor and now she finally has the long awaited opportunity to prove her worth. She has been assigned to work with him on a very high profile murder case. The client is a none other than Noah Cutler, a very powerful and sought after attorney himself. But at her first meeting with the new client, she realizes that Noah is her mysterious one time hookup from the bar the previous night. Huh? What the heck? And as women connected to Noah continue to turn up dead, Charlotte is drawn deeper and deeper into his life and his world of BDSM. Despite her resolve, Charlotte has fallen in love with the mysterious Noah Cutler and desperately works to clear him of the murders. So when an anonymous caller instructs her to visit Force, a BDSM club and seek out Audi James for information, she convinces Noah that she wants to become his submissive and accompany him to the club. That decision may just be the biggest mistake of her career and her life because Audi James has already been charged with one murder and almost too late, Charlotte finally becomes all too aware of the connection between Audi James and Noah. Charlotte finally realizes that in order to exonerate Noah, she must somehow flush out the real killer. She sets her plan in motion with disastrous results. She's in over her head and has made herself a target. The killer has taken the bait and has now set his sights on her! Charlotte becomes more determined than ever to discover the identity of the murderer but she must convince Noah to help her. Noah reluctantly agrees but now they must return to Force to bait their trap and Force is the very last place on earth Charlotte wants to go especially after her previous terrifying experience with Audi James. Will Noah be able to protect her? Oh my! It seems that Noah Cutler has plans for the naive, young Charlotte and they include much more than working on his case. He wants her more than his next breath and is determined to possess her. Will the cost of his love be Charlotte's life? Will she become the next victim? Will her love for Noah and desire to exonerate him cost her everything including her life? Does Noah truly care for Charlotte or simply want to dominate her? Or is she just a pawn in a wicked game of death? Oh my! The evidence against Noah continues to build but he finally reveals his true feelings for Charlotte but no spoilers from me! The suspense builds! Secrets are revealed and the killer is finally exposed! But will Charlotte survive long enough to reveal his identity? Things are rarely what they seem so don't jump the gun just yet! Good Golly Miss Molly! What a plot twist! Sexy dominant attorney-check! Beautiful submissive law student-check! Danger, murder, mystery, jealousy, betrayal, intrigue and suspense-check! Romance, passion, seduction and steamy sex-you bet! I can hardly wait to read Part Fourteen! This just gets better and better! One heck of a heart-pounding ride! My only issue with this author is her failure to provide her readers with any information or links to subscribe to notifications announcing the release of a new installment of the book. It is both inconvenient and time consuming to continuously search in hopes of finding a new installment especially when the release schedule is totally inconsistent. I am following this author on Amazon but to date, I have not received the first email announcing a new release. I enjoy this series and would like to continue reading more from this author but it is inconsiderate for Ford to expect loyalty from her readers when no effort is made on her part to accommodate our convenience. Although this in no way detracts from the contents of this story, it does influence my decision on whether I will read any successive books written by Ford. Deliciously dark, powerfully compelling, completely captivating, seriously sexy and definitely entertaining!

Insightful and well written

I found this text to be very clearly written and informative. It breaks down complex career choice information into reasonable chunks without being overly simple. The book helps people think about themselves in relation to the world of work and guides them into making good preliminary decisions.
